Who is this guy?

Hi Everyone,

I've recently been looking to find a way to share my adventures with family, friends and others who share the same passion as I do. I thought to myself "What better way to accomplish this, than a blog?". So here it is.

Some of you may be wondering who I am. Don't worry, I'll explain that, and also how this all came about.

My name is Eric Boudreau, I grew up in the small town of Timmins, Ontario. Since I was young, running has always been a passion of mine, more precisely, trail running. I've been a nature enthusiast my whole life. There's just something about being out in the forest that makes me happy, and running, that's always been my gateway to this happy place. After a family trip to Western Canada in 2006, I told myself that I would be back here one day. I couldn't help it, the memories of the endless mountains and places to explore were super glued into my mind. Fueled by this passion, all throughout my last year at the University of Ottawa, I searched and applied for jobs out West. Luckily for me, I found one, a job in my field of study to top it all off! Not even two hours after writing my last university exam, I hopped on a plane and made my way to Chilliwack, British Columbia, to start my working career. Now, Chilliwack is my new home, aka, my new base camp for adventures!

A year has flown by already. Hiking has taken over my spare time, and I must admit, I absolutely love it! I've been on many great adventures here in the Chilliwack area, having conquered 15 peaks and hiked to countless waterfalls so far. With a list of 50+ peaks that I still want to complete in this general area, I should have no shortage of content for this new blog. Whether or not I stay true to this daring endeavour is a whole other story, but for now I'm quite motivated to share as much as I can with you.

To start, here's a glimpse of what's to come. I plan on a doing a full blown trail report for each of my hikes, bringing you along for the journey through every key moment of the adventure. My goal is for this blog to help guide you on your own adventures in the same area or simply for pure entertainment, I'll let you decide! I'll also try my best to link many other resources to help you find your way.
One of the best resources for directions would be: http://www.clubtread.com/Routes/

Enough blabbering for now, here are some of my highlights of 2015:

Cheam Peak - A view of the Fraser Valley; the Fraser River (Centre) and Harrison Lake (right) with a forest fire burning wild on it's west side.
Eagle Bluffs - A view of English Bay, Vancouver and Vancouver Island far off in the distance.

Eaton lake - Ended up going for swim that day, COLD AS #$%/, but...why not?

Mount Macfarlane - A beautiful view of lower and upper Pierce lake and the Cheam range in the distance on the left.

These images are only a few of many highlights of 2015. I didn't want to spoil some of the places I plan to revisit, so you'll have to keep on checking for new updates for more! I'll be revisiting many of the magical places I saw last summer and hopefully I will have a full description for them when I do.

You can expect a minimum of two blog posts per month. I try to get out every weekend, but it all depends on the weather and if I'm not working. The bills don't pay themselves (unfortunately). ;)

In conclusion, my goal is to inspire people and help them discover these beautiful places.

Come along for the ride!

P.S. If you made it this far, thank you! Feel free to leave a comment/criticism. This is my first blog and first time I do anything like this, so every little bit of help is welcomed.

Talk to you again soon,
Eric
